Frequently Asked Questions
What kind of photographer are you?
My photography style sits between lifestyle and documentary. I'm a natural light photographer so my primary light source is daylight.
Booking & Payment
Please contact me through this website to schedule your shoot. Once a date has been selected, a non- refundable 50% retainer will be due in order to reserve the date and time of your session. Payment via bank transfer is required to secure your booking with me.
A second invoice will be sent to you following our shoot together. The balance of which is to be paid prior to delivery of the final digital files from our shoot.
What happens prior to the photoshoot?
Once your booking is confirmed (retainer paid and contract signed/ returned) I'll send you a questionnaire to help me get to know you better.
In the lead up to the shoot all logistics like location and an agreed meeting point will be confirmed. On the day of the shoot, I will arrive at the agreed time and location. Following the shoot, I will select the best images from our shoot to edit and deliver to you via an online gallery.
Do you shoot at locations outside of London?
Yes, but this will need to be discussed ahead of time and agreed to. All travel within the M25 is included in my costs. Should travel outside of the M25 be required, an additional travel fee will be incurred.
What should I wear?
The way you dress is of course entirely up to you. Feel free to wear an outfit that reflects your personal style and that you’re comfortable in. If you’d like, I’m happy to suggest colours that could work well with our location.
Try to avoid clothing with logos as they can be distracting in images.
If being photographed outside, I suggest equally prioritising comfort and style for footwear as we may need to walk to a few different spots. You can always bring an extra pair of shoes to change into at different locations.
My number one tip though, is to check the weather forecast in the days leading up to the shoot, and on the morning of the photoshoot itself. Pay close attention to the temperature and the "real feel", especially for cooler times of the year. It would be a real shame if you don't wrap up warm enough and aren't comfortable for the shoot!
What happens if it rains?
Let's face it, the weather is out of our control. If an outdoor session has to be rearranged due to the weather we will reschedule on another mutually convenient day.
What's your cancellation policy?
In the event of the client cancelling the session for whatever reason prior to the session date, the booking fee is non-refundable.
Hair & Make-Up
If hair and make-up isn’t your thing, no problem, you can skip this section, (hair and make up isn't my thing either!) But if you love hair and make-up, amazing, go you!
One small request I have, to ensure you get the most out of our shoots, is….
-
if you’ve booked an outdoor photo shoot, please arrive ready; having already done your hair and make-up
-
if you’ve booked a home shoot, then I ask that all hair and make-up has been done prior to my arrival
What happens after the photo shoot?
Following our session together, I'll carefully select the strongest images. Selects will then be adjusted for exposure, brightness, contrast, sharpness, etc. Once this post-processing is completed I will prepare your digital files to be sent to the main client.
